Southeastern University has a newly accredited nursing school. It is a 5,000 student Christian university in Lakeland, Florida. Apparently the school is investing a lot in this new program. If I were a student there, I believe I would have a great chance of getting in. Does anyone have any thoughts about attending a newly accredited school? The director of the program has started 3 other successful nursing programs.
I am a high school senior and was also accepted to the University of Florida as an undergraduate. I know their nursing school is very difficult to get into. I do not want to have to get a four-year degree and then go to nursing school. I would also prefer not having to transfer to another school half-way through college to attend nursing school.
I would appreciate any thoughts or advice.

I don't know anything about Southeastern's BSN program, aside from the fact that it exists. Just wanted to throw some more options out there - Florida Southern College has a pre-licensure BSN program that is well-established and well-respected. It's approximately the same price as Southeastern's program, although living off-campus makes the tuition for both schools slightly less expensive. Florida Southern also has MSN and DNP programs, if you wanted to further your education beyond a BSN.
Another option would be Polk State College. They have an Associate's program, but also offer an RN-BSN completion program so you'd avoid having to transfer to another school after getting one degree. It's also MUCH cheaper than SEU or FSC.
Thanks for your advice. I did receive a very good scholarship to Southeastern, but the program is new and I just found out it will not get CCNE accreditation until this summer. It does seem like they are pouring a lot of resources into the program. It is just hard to find a lot of good information. I did talk to two people who are currently attending and they love it. Univeristy of Florida has so much prestige, but it doesn't do me a lot of good if I can't get into the nursing school. Touch decisions.
