Hi everyone,
I have just registered for this forum but I have been Googling information from this board for months! I have a TON of questions that I need answered, and am very grateful to anyone who has the time to answer!
I have not taken any science prerequisite classes, so my main concern is getting into any school that allows me to complete these while taking nursing classes. I'm also looking for BSN programs. I'm taking online psych and nutrition classes, but am stuck for a&p and microbiology.
1. I've applied for Humboldt and CSU Stanislaus but NOT for the nursing programs, because it seems like I can take the prerequisite classes I need while attending. Is this true? I live in San Francisco and it's pretty much impossible to get into anatomy/physiology and microbiology here.
2. I decided to apply to Humboldt and CSU Stanislaus because it seems like the schools in the Bay Area/Los Angeles area are all full of students. Am I wrong in assuming that nursing isn't as impacted at these schools, or is nursing a hard major to get into at ALL schools in California?
3. I've also read about others on the forum talking about West Coast University and National University. Are these good programs to apply to? Again, my main concern is getting into a BSN program with no prerequisites completed.
4. What other schools are others applying to? My cousin goes to Western Career College in Sacramento, and her favorite thing about the program is the fact that there's no waiting list for the classes and that you can enroll and take prerequisites there. I don't mind moving. I've done research but can others recommend schools in other states?
Again, thanks in advance!!!!!:)
