Nevada State College nursing program

Do you guys have any insights on nevada state nursing program? How well do the professors teach their courses? Do you have to retake prerequisite classes that you already took in UNLV? Do they prepare you well for the NCLEX exam?

Hi Hanna, my name is Jeannete and I am currently a nursing student at Nevada State College. I just finished my first semester as a full-time nursing student. I personally love the program and my other classmates feel the same way. The faculty and nursing students ahead of me were very welcoming. I love that the program is really geared towards the students succeeding. If I needed help with anything or wasn't doing so great, the professors helped me and talked with me about how to improve my grades, they really cared. They even have other resources that are specific towards student success. I feel like my nursing cohort are my family because we are so close and I love that! The professors are great at their courses, I really enjoyed my first semester because they were all so nice and they made their courses really understandable. I'm not too sure about retaking prereqs, but I think that you might have to take 1 or 2, I would call the school just to make sure. The program here really prepares you for the NCLEX we have a 97% passing rate and in the past its even been 100%. Everyone I know that has gone here and taken the exam has passed, so I am pretty confident that they will prepare me when I have to take the NCLEX. I know that to get in you will need to take the TEAS which isn't too hard and the score that you need to get in isn't high. When I applied to the program it was pretty easy and more people are being accepted because we have the room and they want to expand the program. I hope this helped if you have any further questions you can call the school, I'm sure they would love answering any questions you have left:)
