Nervous about my personal statement

I think this was the hardest paper I've had ever had to write! I am freaking out about my personal statement lol. I am applying to an entry level masters program and this is basically my chance to stand out from other applicants.

Ahhhhhhhhh, well at least I'm done with it and will be mailing it out tomorrow.

Was the personal statement easy for other people or is it just me

I was actually thinking how freaked out I am about my personal statement...which I haven't written yet. I'm actually applying for dual ABSN/MSN programs for 2010, but I'm already freaking about this essay. It's probably because I've been reading the personal statements of all of my friends over the last few months.

So here's my question: What did you write about in your personal statement? Was it a lot of "I've wanted to be a nurse since I was a little girl..."? Because that wouldn't work for me, since - if I had wanted to be a nurse that long ago - I would have majored in nursing in my first degree. What do you put in situations like these?

Ok I just wrote this long reply and somehow it got deleted.

Well I basically wrote about how I became interested in nursing and what influenced by decision to change my career.

They also asked why do you want to attend their college.

What were your reasons? My main reason for choosing certain schools in their location and their start date. However, it feels like location may not be the best reason, since it basically boils down to "As far from California as I can get without leaving the country," and start date would take me about a sentence to explain.

I don't know...I feel like I'm faking it in a lot of ways, and that's never comfortable.

i'm hoping to stay in california :) well location was a reason why i choose this school, but also the way the curriculum is set up. once you get your rn in 16 months the master's portion is distance based. so they have students that live in like virginia that come once a month or so for the fri-sun meetings. i also like that you can work while in the program. i couldn't imagine not working for 3 years. i also like the small college atmosphere....smaller classes=more interaction with the professor.
