I wasn't sure where to put this, so please be patient with me. I've just passed my NCLEX-RN (found out this morning) and I'd like some information on hospitals in my area. We've recently moved to Lexington, MA. I would prefer not to work in Boston.

Also, I took the test for my Florida license, so I was wondering if I can work here in Mass while I wait for my MA license or do I have to wait. And how long does it usually take to get the license?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Specializes in ICU, nutrition.

Check with the Mass. SBON; several states have a compact where they recognize each other's licenses; however, I don't know whether Florida and Massachusetts participate or not..

Most states will allow you work under a temporary permit while your license becomes approved if you are licensed in another state and apply for licensure in your current state.

First of all, let me congratulate you on passing your RN boards - I bet you are glad they are behind you. As far as where to work - I too used to live in Mass and worked at Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

Very busy but great pay and benefits. Also, got licensed in Florida. I live here now. It took about one month to get my Florida license in the mail. Good Luck and best wishes as you start your nursing career. God Bless:D
