need some info!!

First i would like to say that this is a great site, alot of information for people to take in.. Well I'm looking go to one of the local colleges here in charlotte nc. I wanted to know if anyone have info about the lpn programs around the charlotte area. I know its a waiting list for just about all the rn programs and it will be hard to get in with so many people apply. Myself i have to start with the pre-reqs. so i know im at the bottom looking up. I was wondering if there were any schools near by im willing to travel aslong as its not to far to obtain a lpn dploma. I was thinking about goin to ecpi. The cost of the program isnt really bothering me b/c this is something that i want to do. but if there was a community college offering the same thing i would like someone to give me a heads up. thx..

My opinion is that ECPI is overpriced! When I checked years ago it was like $23k for the LPN program. Others may have a different opinion. If you still have pre-req's to do, I say start with those and look into transferring to the school you want to go to.

thx for the info. i checked into cpcc. took the test for the cna program that they are offering. wasnt sure if i needed it. since i never had any knowledge of the healthcare field i figured it would give me a sneak peak of it.

Yes you need to be a NAI for most of the nursing programs now... (I think). So are you in the class at CPCC?

I would if I were you. But I think some schools want you to have some of the done before hand. it varies from school to school. If you can take A&P now and get that out of the way it will help. Also chem and microbiology. Those classes are time consuming and add those to nursing classes/tests/clinicals, it's TOUGH!! So whatever you can do now to lighten your load BEFORE you start nursing school, do it!

LOL, breathe, relax, calm down. No, you didn't over step! It's a process, just like everything else you will have to do! Take things one day at a time, one class at a time, one test at a time! I just emailed you...
