It seems like it depends on your state, honestly. I've heard of some schools sending certain information to the BON so people could receive a CNA cert after the first semester/year. Other people have stated that they would have to take a CNA class to become a CNA.
But it seems like either way, you can also apply to hospitals to be a patient care tech or other such titles that do not require a certification, and these are generally taken up by nursing students.

Need Ideas for Summer Jobs
I am a nursing student in Texas. I will have completed my first year of nursing in May 2018. I will have completed Level 2 of my nursing school. I am looking for a job for the summer. I am seeing very little in terms of nurse externships/internships. I heard somewhere that I could work as a CMA, is this true? Would I need to take any additional classes for this? What about certification?
