We have a group project due, it is suppose to be fun:uhoh3: but I am having a hard time trying to come up with a fun way on how to teach "how does immobility affect the heart". I know the answer to the question but do not know how to make it fun. I also have to test them at the end.

1. Use cute graphics
2. Come up with some activities to do in class for the learners to participate in -- such as a game or participatory activity that illustrates a key concept you want them to remember
3. Do a skit or dramatization -- can be fun if it involves members of the class acting as the characters in your skit
What types of classroom activities and teaching strategies do you and your friends enjoy?
I hope you are not offended by what I am about to say as I mean it in the friendliest of ways ... But I hope you remember this experience. So many nurses don't realize how hard it is to plan a class -- and to teach a class in a way that is enjoyable for the learner. They constantly criticize their teachers for being boring, or for telling them stuff they already know, etc. and think that being a teacher is "not really hard work" like being a staff nurse is. The specialty of nursing education is really hard , too: it's just hard in different ways.
I've given a few suggestions for you to start thinking about, but might want to read a few articles on teaching strategies to stimulate some more ideas on how to develop a fun class. There are whole books on the subject -- and nursing journals that focus on nursing education (academic education, continuing education, and staff development). But I think a good place to start is to think about what you and classmates enjoy in a class.
Thank you very much! I have a great respect for all teachers. It is a hard job to hold their attention, make it fun, and make sure they are learning it.:heartbeat
