Need Help in My Research Proposal

Can anyone help me in concretizing my research proposal which is entitled" Problems Encountered By Filipino Nurses Abroad After the June 2006 NLE Leakage Scandal" ? Basically, I want to determine if there is an after effect of the June 2006 nursing licensure examination for Filipino nurses working abroad. And if yes, what is it (are those)? Recently I have read an article written by a Filipino nurse that the leakage issue is not sensationalized much in the foreign countries as it is here in the Philippines. Now, I think I have to decide right here if such study significant in itself. I need guide in framing the following:

  • Problem Statements - below are the statement of the problem indicative from my basic assumptions:

  1. Is there any difference in the attitude of foreign nurses towards Filipino nurses before and after the June 2006 Philippine nursing licensure examination?
  2. Is there any difference in the attitude and perception of foreign patients towards the filipino nurses and their service quality?

- based from above statements, do you think it is feasible and worth pursuing study?

  • Significance of the Study - who will be benifitted and how?
  • Scope and Limitation - how can i delimit my study so that it can be finished in less than a year's time and who shall be my reposndents and should I target a certain place or population?
  • Methodology - what method of data gathering is appropriate? Is it advisable to make a fill-in questionnaire form online for ease and convenience? What about it's issue of security and reliability? I might be questioned about that? How will i know that the one sending me the data is really the right respondent? Pls help.
  • Research Design - what should be the appropriate statistical tool?
  • Review of Related Literature - how can i proceed with my RRL? What should I include in here and where can I possibly find such materials on the web?

(BOTH ARE GOOD QUESTIONS BUT EITHER ONE OR THE OTHER I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF TWO PROBLEM STATEMENTS IN ONE PIECE OF RESEARCH. PERSONALLY I WOULD ONLY GO WITH ONE OF THOSE PROBLEM STATEMENT BOTH ARE GOOD PROBLEM STATEMENTS BOTH ARE GOOD BECAUSE THEY AFFECT PATIENT CARE (NUMBER 1 HAVE TO THINK MORE ABSTRACT)

- based from above statements, do you think it is feasible and worth pursuing study? DEFINENTLY WORTH PERSUING PERSONALLY AS A PROFESSIONAL (STUDENT OF COURSE) I LIKE TO KNOW HOW THE LICENSURE AFFECTS NURSES AND PATIENTS ATTITUDES

WELL IF YOU WANT TO DO QUAL DO LITTLE RESEARCH REVIEW ASK QUESTIONS AND TRY TO MAKE PATTERNS IF YOU WANT TO DO QUANT DO LOTS OF LITERATURE REVIEW (I WOULD RECCOMEND CINHAL SEARCH ENGINE) TO SEE IF THERE IS DATA OUT THERE AND HOW YOU CAN MEASURE THEM.

thanks for your input. Basically, I plan that it shall be a descriptive type of research in the sense that I will just create an online survey for Filipino nurses to fill-in honestly. I am not sure how I can defend the reliabilty of such research instrument. Please advise me on this. By the way, since my research is all about the effects of nursing licensure scandal, I am not yet clear as to what statistical treatment, if ever I need one, I am going to use. I'll get back soon to let you know any update on my research study. Please continue posting on this thread and those who reads this thread, please lend me a hand. Thank you.
