Need help with demonstrations

Hey everyone! So I am in my second year of an accelerated BSN program and am almost finished with the first session of Fundamentals and Health Assessment. I seem to be doing very well on the tests, with the NCLEX style questions but my problem is the skills. I can do them okay it's just the whole "getting into nurse mode" and acting like I'm talking to a patient when doing them that I'm having a problem with. I just feel awkward and like I have no idea what I'm doing or saying. Next week we have to do a return Head to Neck demonstration and I am so nervous! Any advice to make this go smoother?

I was having the same issue simply because I hate role playing; it just Makes me feel like an idiot. My solution was to write out my assessments like a script starting from walking in the room, hand hygiene, introducing myself to the patient and take it all the way through my skills checklist.

Somehow, having every detail on paper made it easier to practice outside of class and in my head...

Made me feel way less nervous?
