Need help from a community nurse - PLEASE

Published

hi, :welcome:

i am a bsn student at brenau university in gainesville, ga. i am currently taking a health promotion course and have been given the assignment of interviewing a nurse working in a community health role. i am having a hard time finding someone who will give me a few minutes of their time. there are only six questions and it can be done via e-mail so it would not take a lot time. here is a list of the questions that i would need answered:

  • how long have you worked in your present position?
  • what activities do you undertake in the position? what is a "typical" day like?
  • how were you prepared for the position? any special education or training?
  • how do you focus on the "community as client" rather than an individual?
  • do you consider health promotion and disease prevention activities important in your position? why or why not? h
  • how satisfied are you with your role?

thank you so much for your consideration.

Have you tried the Hall Co. Health Dept? You can't get much more "community" than that, unless it is Good News at Noon.

Somebody in my class has already gotten somebody from Hall Cty Health Dept. I was trying to find someone different. I'm a stay at home mom so I don't have an inside contact like most of my fellow students who are already working in healthcare. I have contacted 15 businesses such as hospice, visiting nurses, home healthcare etc and have not been successful.

Why don't you try Good News at Noon?

Thanks! I hadn't heard of it before you replied. I contacted them the other day and one of the nurses said she would help me. I appreciate the idea.
