need help with care plan most important goal

Published

My patient is an 81 year old 8 weeks post fall at home at night getting out of bed and sustained a hip injury. Also has macular degeneration. Now at home. I need to do a gp nurse care plan both short and long term goals. Also states she is not that interested in food.

Im thinking her most important goal would be relating to her physical mobility due to macular degeneration and recent hip fracture. However im also wandering if i should focus on her nutrtion?

I only have to choose the most important goal from a nursing perspective?

If anyone could give me some advice i would appreciate it.

Wish I could help you but can't. :/ However, as someone who is not yet in nursing classes; I would be concerned about her not being interested in food. If she isn't eating, she could deteriorate pretty quickly at that age especially if she isn't maintaining her electrolytes and hydration. Just my two cents. I will be interested in what others have to say.
