Need advice on updating facility

Published

Hello and Happy Memorial Day!!

My name is Marne and I have been in the Healthcare field since 1998. Essentially beginning as an Activity Asst to Transportation Coord., to Registered Med Asst, to Licensed Massage Therapist and finally Licensed Practical Nurse. I have several years of experience in a mass multitude of areas but currently I have taken on the Staff Educator role at a facility that needs severe revamping in Missouri. I need some insight on how to produce a successful schedule that is both time efficient while providing the appropriate information so that it is retained. I also have a dual role as Nursing Manager over a 40 Resident wing of A/Os3-4 Residents. I have been instructed to do a review on "everything" (Whoa) for the entire Healthcare staff (CNA, CMT,LPN, RNs).

Examples of what is not being done at the facility:

Walking Rounds (CNA/Nurses)

EBP

Skilled Assessments/head to toe assessment

Tracking of Employee Immunizations/PPD

Tracking of Resident Immunizations/PPD

Inservices to communicate change in policies/implementing policies

Turns Q2hrs

Education: handwashing, transfers(hoyer/standup lift)/bed to chair, chair to bed, pericare male/female, with/without foley. donning PPE,  and D all of the above.

So if anybody can please give me some insight on any of these I would greatly appreciate it. Also if you have any materials to assist with the implementation of these things I would forever be GRATEFUL!! ESPECIALLY A WALKING ROUNDS DOCUMENT!!

THANKS IN ADVANCE

MARNE
