I'm fairly new into the nursing field (
My interest and passion is in the OR. I've been trying maybe for the past year or so to land a job in the OR, PACU, SDS, etc. AND nothing. I have not found one hospital in northern NJ that has a perioperative training course for nurses that I'd be considered for. And the OR openings I do end up finding are looking for experienced OR nurses.
I am currently BLS certified but do not have ACLS or IV certification. Is that something I should consider doing as I wait for an OR position to help give me more of a chance?
Any suggestions? HELP!?

I work in a hospital and haven't been able to get to the OR, you have to wait for someone to retire. I would suggest that if the doctors you work for do surgery ask about scubbing in, many doctors bring their own nurses to the OR.
