Need advice getting back into Nursing

Specializes in Med/Surg, Tele, ICU/CCU, GE Lab.

Hi, I need some career advice. I have a BSN and 10 years experience. I've worked Med/Surg, tele, ICU/CCU. I've been a SAHM with 3 kids for over 2 years. Last year I tried to go back to work part time but had trouble with sleep and 12 hour shifts. I want to get a full time job with 8 hour shifts, 7-3. Most of the shifts at the hospital near me has switched to 12 hours. I am considering going to different areas completely. Endoscopy interests me. But I haven't seen any openings. There are openings for Ambulatory surgery and Special Procedures. Amb/Surg has a fellowship program which really interests me. But this position deals with ortho and peds.

Special Procedures also interests me but I don't really know exactly what they do. I brought patients there for insertion of a line. This hospital has a separate Cardiac cath lab so they don't do that there. I just need advice on these 2 areas please. Or any advice to get back into nursing. Thanks!
