NEED ADVICE ASAP!!

Hello Allnurses Community,

I am new to this website. I have been trying to pursue my Nursing degree for sometime. This summer I am in my last class before applying to several programs, but I have sort of a problem. I am currently employed as a CNA. I work part-time (only on Sundays). I can't seems to even juggle working part-time with this job and taking this one class. I am currently taking the 2nd half of Anatomy and Physiology. The class is 5 weeks and is very demanding. I want to get some advice from allnurses. I want to call off tommorrow, because I have a lab practical Monday and after that a exam wedenesday and after that two more exam every week until that final on Sept 2, I am also work for a registry part-time whenever I want to make some extra money. I do have children, but no husband to help. I have done everything on my own. I have a total of eight children. Four of them are now adults. I have a 17,14,12, 11 year old left for me to raise. I know I own it to my children to work, but I know I have to make some changes. I don't want to be a CNA forever. I have always wanted to be a Nurse and hope one day I can be an NP. I live off of my child support and nothing else. I am so engrossed in my Anatomy and Physiology class that all I do is read and study. i am getting to old to fool around. I take my education serious. Well anyways I want to call off work. I need to study before this practical. Would you call off? I have called off before because I am so motivated to take the next step in my life and career. I work in the oncology unit @ a major hospital. I love the patients, but I no longer enjoy being a CNA I want to do more. Cveronica

I work only on Sundays as well with my new job ( I am a nanny). I do not have kids but I do have bills and other obligations. Money is so tight in my community that finding a part-time job is extremely hard and as I look for another one, i don't think I will find it. Keep your Sunday jop and dont call out. It's one class and even though it will take up allot of your time, use time magement skills to get all you work done fridays and saturdays. Study on break or after/before work on Sundays. Use a planner to write down everything that needs to be done. You can do this!
