2nd Interview..

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hey guys,

So I got a second interview at "....." (Sorry don't want to post the name of the hospital until I get the job) Hospital as a unit clerk.. I'm hoping I get the job so that I can get my foot in the door for my nursing career.. Can you guys give me some suggestions/tips to help me ace this interview?!?! Oh and I accepted another position that I'm supposed to start tomorrow. What should I do? Since I already told them I would work n they're willing to work with my school schedule.. Calling all nurses or hospital clerks!!! Thanks in advance! I'm super stoked! I was starting to lose hope and am very grateful for this opportunity! Tips Tips Tips!! :nailbiting: lol

Specializes in ICU.

Dress appropriately and be well spoken. Ask the people interviewing you a couple of questions to show you are interested in the job and have put some thought into it. Be positive. Nobody wants to hire negative Nancy. I think anymore if you are well groomed, that puts you ahead of anyone else. It's sad but true. Don't use lots of slang and stuff. And be very personable. When you have a job, you are with these people more than at home sometimes. Your personality has a lot to do with it. So if you present yourself well, you should get hired. Remember you are selling yourself to these people so be a good salesman.

Thanks for the awesome advice! I'm hoping a 2nd interview is a good sign.. I am very personable so I hope I can portray it and get the message across. Thanks again for the advice now time to do some bio hw & interview studying! Everything seems to be falling into place it feels soo surreal but good! I'm so grateful!!! :)

Congrats on your new job and interviews! Great way to start your nursing career :) my advice is that if you'd rather have this job that you're interviewing for...ask for it. Let them know before you leave the interview that you really are interested in the position!

Thanks girly I definitely will, I just have to be well prepared because they interview as a panel so it's a little more intense than a one on one.

Ah, yeah the panels always made me more nervous. I'm praying for you to do an amazing job! :)

Yesss, please do! It did make me more nervous however my 1st panel interview experience helped me see how it was first hand and I believe I can go in with more ease & confidence this time! :) I don't think they would have called me back if they weren't interested.
