Here's a little background: I graduated June 2007 and took about a year to take my first Nclex. I failed with maximum of 205 questions. I was so bummed that I din't retake right away, I waited another year. Failed again at 105 i think. My next test was about 3 years later which stopped at 170. I studied harder than before but still failed I attended a refresher class course but that didn't help me pass the following Nclex exam - It's probably my fault because I delayed taking the exam about 4 months after the course. Anway, Nclex take 5 (Sept 16th @ 1:15pm) and I DID IT!!! I PASSED!!! Oh BTW, the computer stopped at 85. I really thought I failled again.
So, for the people out there that are having difficulty passing the Nclex, hang in there!! It's possible to beat this Monster Nclex. DON'T QUIT - STUDY DIFFERENT THAN BEFORE.
-Try to learn from the previous test. I learned that I was having difficutly on delagation, and priortizations...etc So, I studied and focus on that. The best book I really recommend is the "Lacharity prioritization book 2nd Edition". Worth every penny! I owe to this book. I think it's the reason I passed to be honest. It really chizzled my critical thinking and answered the "why" when down to two right answers.
- I studied the green Saunder book. Mainly studied the Q&A on the Disc.
- I studied the Exam Cram PN - Mainly Studied the Q&A on the Disc
I pretty much know the content - but its really the strategy of answering questions and using your critical thinking.
Funny, two hours after the test, I tried the pearson vue trick and it took me to the CC page. I was sooo sad because that means I failed. I know this because it worked before on my previous 4 exam. Little do I know that NOW, everyone goes to the CC page now. I didn't know that! So when I got the letter, I was confused for a second on what I was reading... It said, "HAD PASSED"... I thought to myself, there has to be a mistake. Then the HAPPY TEARS start flowing, knowing I don't have to study anymore. No more going going to coffee shops for 3 hours after long hours of work. I've come along way and never quit.
"NEVER QUIT. If you stumble, get back up. What happened yesterday no longer matters. Today is another day so get on track and move closer to your DREAMS AND GOALS. YOU CAN DO IT!"
