Hello all!
I took my NCLEX last week and am quite embarrassed to admit that I failed. I was looking to see if anyone else had failed their first time and what they did differently that helped them pass the second time.
I have severe test anxiety when it comes to test like this. I passed the LPN program with a 3.87 GPA. I did well on all my assignments, projects, and tests. I did fail the first test of each class due to anxiety. Not knowing how it was going to be laid out and stuff.
For my NCLEX, I studied out of 3 books. 1 Kaplan with 250 questions, 1 Lippincott with 1000 questions. And 1 PN flashcard book. I did well with them, so getting 205 questions and failing came as a surprise.
What do you think?

By your GPA it seems like you know the information now it's time to apply it. With test anxiety you may be answering questions incorrectly because your nervous and over thinking the question. Now you know what to expect and you may do well the second time around. I used the Saunders book and it was very helpful.
Best of luck to you! You CAN do this!! :-)

I'm sorry to hear that, but don't worry you have a second chance. A friend of mines is in the same situation as you, we both took a review class, he was doing really good answering all the questions. But come the test day, he had so much anxiety that he failed with 75 questions. It was because he panicked with the time limit and thought he was taking a while answering one question.. so he rushed. I think that the most important thing with test anxiety is figuring out why you have it. Once you have addressed that, you can tackle it. One thing that helped me is before a test I would write down on a piece of paper 'my worries' then afterwards I'd just throw it away. It usually helps me calm down, I also take a deep breathe and just let it come to you. It looks like you know a lot of the information.. JUST READ and think. You can do it! Good luck!
