Nclex Dilemma

Published

hello iam a newly grad from the philippines and just passed our local board exam. I need your help if ever iam applying to texas for my nclex!

a) how long does it take for me to accomplish the ces verification?

b) texas is requiring a lot for nclex like the ces, is it really that expensive?

c) and if for example i passed the nclex exam, how will i get an sss # from that state?

d) will the hopsitals there be willing to accept a newly grad without hospital experience except for her on the job training and is a foreign student?

thanks for your help!!:penguin:

hi

As far as I am aware, texas hospitals will employ foreign new grads. The key to obtaining your license is not to become registered in your country, then you will eligible for licensure in texas without having to take the foreign educated nurse refresher course that the texas board of nursing requires you to take if you have less than 2 years experience. If you obtain your license in the phills and don't work you will still have to do the course. I have spoken with the texas board many times, I hope I have interpreted their emails correctly.

If I am wrong, I would love to hear other peoples thoughts on this. I used to live in DFW, started my degree at TCU and came home to Australia to finish.

Good Luck
