Hi-
I know that there is a ton of info in this forum about navy nursing, and since there is so much, I'm having difficulty finding answers for some of my questions. I just graduated from nursing school with a BSN and I'm very interested in Navy nursing. So here are my questions:
--How long does the application process usually take from the time I start with the Medical recruiter?
--What is involved in the physical? Running distance, time requirements? Weight requirements? Number of push ups, sit ups etc?
--How often do nurses get any of their choices for hospitals they put on their "dream sheet"?
--Once starting work at one of the hospitals, it still is acceptable to ask for certain days off for events, etc? I am not that familiar with how that would work in a military hospital.
--I will most likely be in med/surg right off the bat, but i am interested in volunteering for deployment to the middle east. Since I will just have med/surg as experience, what would deployment be like? Would it be in a military hospital or something closer to combat like (is the Combat Surgical Hospitals?) More tent like on the front lines?
Any info I can get on these questions would be REALLY appreciated! Feel free to go into as much detail as you'd like :-) Thanks again!
