Navy Nurse...? Help!

Published

Hey guys. =] I'm very interested in becoming a Navy Nurse....except I don't know how exactly to go about it. I'm a 3rd year Nursing student overseas in the Philippine Islands, but I'm an American Citizen. I was looking through some websites to see what the qualifications are to become a Navy Nurse, but it's unclear to me whether or not they'll honor my degree from overseas. I don't see why they shouldn't, but it's a possibility right? I wasn't sure whether I had to be a graduate from NROTC or not. Plus, I'll be 23 by the time I graduate.

Questions:

Will the US Navy honor my degree from overseas?

Will I have to take additional classes?

Will my age be an issue?

Would it matter that I didn't graduate from NROTC?

The US Navy states that Navy Nurses are considered officials...but what exactly does that mean- reserves or active duty?

If anybody has any answers, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks guys =]

Much love,

Camay
