Naval Hospital Beaufort

I have been stationed at Naval Hospital Beaufort. I was wondering if anyone had and info on the hospital there and what it is like?

Welllll. Its right beside the Marine Corp recruit training depot so a lot of your clients are 18 year olds in boot camp with cellutis, possible H1N1, and the various injuries you get from taking 10 mile hikes. I don't know what kind of surgeries they do there but the local hospital, beaufort memorial, gets shipped a ton of the patients. Even stuff like appys. They don't deliver babies. Its old and minty green inside. The whole town is smallish. There is no mall. It is about an hour from Hilton Head, an hour from Savannah, almost 2 hours from Charleston. There is a walmart. There are maybe 3 bars in town. Its beautiful there if you like the beach and palm trees. The whole town, it seems, young single marines or pregnant marine wives. :D i didn't work in the hospital but my husband was stationed there. You can PM me if you want to know anything about the area. I'm jealous, I miss it.

Thank you!! That is more info than I had. The hospitals website isn't very informative. I live in a bigger city so I'm a bit nervous but it should be good. I figured that most of the patients were recruits. I want to live off base for sure but don't know anything about the area. Thank you again!
