Nashville area nursing schools... do I have a shot?

U.S.A. Tennessee

Hi everyone-

I'm feeling pretty discouraged this evening. I'll be applying to nursing schools (ASN & BSN) this spring, and I'm really stressing myself out because I screwed myself up my freshman year, so now my GPA suffers. It's a 2.9, and if I make the grades I am expecting this semester, I will have a 3.1ish. Since the deadlines for the places I'm applying for are around March, that will be the cumulative GPA on my application. I am so worried that my GPA just won't cut it! I am specifically wanting to go to school in the Nashville area. I'm planning on applying to TSU, Nashville State, Lipscomb, possibly Aquinas, etc... I'm not picky, I'd just like to get in somewhere and be an RN in a couple of years. So far, I have only taken the TEAS (I made an 85 & I'm planning to retake it and score a little higher), still gotta take the HESI and Kaplan. I'm assuming that I will do about the same on those as I did the TEAS. I'm really needing feedback from you all... has anyone been admitted to a program with around a 3.1 GPA? Specifically, any in the Nashville area?

I am in the same boat as you. I have a 3.214 due to freshman foolishness and family problems. I know for a fact you wouldn't want to apply for TSU. They're going to lose their accreditation. I don't know about the other school's though. It has been stressful trying to get my GPA up. It's so easy to bring down your GPA but its super hard to raise it.
