My HESI A2 Experience

Published

Hello! I just took the HESI A2 exam for the first time yesterday. I did not study as much as I would have liked to, but it still turned out OK. I'm currently taking four online classes for prereqs so I did not have a lot of extra free time to dedicate to studying. I did start studying for it about a week before and really stepped it up the days leading up to the exam. My scores were:

Math: 100

Anatomy and Physiology: 92

Reading Comprehension: 84

Vocabulary and General Knowledge: 94

Grammar: 98

Composite: 93.6

I was pretty disappointed by my reading comprehension score, but I think that overall, it went alright. I mainly used the Elsevier Admission Assessment Exam Review book to prepare, but I also used the Mometrix HESI A2 Secrets for extra practice questions. I think that the Elsevier book was really beneficial for preparing for the exam. There were even a few questions on the exam that were the same from the Elsevier book.

If I were to do this differently, I would start studying more in advance, at least a month before, and complete more practice exams. I think that practicing the reading comprehension questions would have helped me know what the questions would be like and what they were looking for. I can expand more on each of the sections if y'all want, but I just wanted to get this initial post out there! :)

Hi I'm studying now for the test what do I really need to focus on for the math, A&P, and Reading comprehension?
