I know, how exciting. I graduated in May, became a RN on July 5, been off orientation since early Sept. (4.5months). Never had a pt of mine code.
My guy yesterday didn't code, but...
40 something year old with chest pain. Apparently ntg didn't work for him, so his doc skipped to just dilaudid for cp.
He had some cp. I gave him dilaudid 2mg per order (and he'd had it before, in teh admission unit) and he went pain free, and started to snooze(easily aroused)
His HR dropped to 40s, 37, 34, 32!
Then I got my first experience with Atropine. It worked pretty quick!

Great, what an exciting feeling......How did the administration go? What was your time frame, did you have to call Dr. before or was it protocol/standing order? Good for you!!!!
