My first term @ West Coast University

Published

I am so blessed to finally be enrolled in the nursing program at West Coast University. Becoming a nurse is one of my long term goals. After so many years of tears and praying that I get to this moment... it is finally here .... and perhaps there will be more tears and heavy praying , but it will be worth it and necessary lol. I have been in the medical field since 2001 working as a Medical Assistant. I started college late in 2008 taking 1 class per semester and working full time. At that time I only had one daughter, then I had two more, but even pregnant I still went to school. Reaching the goal of being enrolled in a program has been a long journey full of uncertainty, impatience, frustration, doubts, and tears. Gladly, it is all a thing of the past. Now I have to buckle up and be ready for what is yet to come... long hours of studying, sleepless nights, and perhaps one or two tears lol. I am currently working at a dialysis for which I was a unit secretary. Now, I am being trained towards getting my license as a Certified Hemodialysis Technician. I am blessed to have been able to excel and become the best out of the three that were trainees. My nurse who took me under her wing is proud of me. I am feel proud of myself when she passes by and tells my patients that I am #1 thecnician. I make sure to deserve such compliment and make sure I stay number one in helping my patients. Once I am a registered nurse I will be able to provide care to patients and help doctors from a different level of expertise . I'm so excited, I love the medical field. ;) I'm also thankful to have my family's support in helping me take care of my three smart and loving daughters ages: 16, 10, and 8. I can't wait to set an example for them and make them proud to see their mom graduating as a nurse. They are the engine that keeps me going strong. If you are reading this, I encourage you to never give up! It is possible one way or another. If you wish to be a nurse start working towards your dream today! It is such a rewarding career, not only because it is stable and well paid , but because you get to help patients get better and return to their loved ones. Unfortunately, not all will make it back to their loved ones but be proud that you can still help them make their hospital stay one full with care, respect, and dignity. Over all, I urge you to follow your dreams and BE the BEST at it! Like Mcdreamy said, "It's a beautiful day to save lives!" :)
