My Failing experience in taking my NCLEX RN

Published

I never thought this will happen, but I expected the worse before i took my exam. It was a nerve wracking experience, after those 2-3 mos of preparation it all ends up like this.

I failed my exam for the first try, blaming not myself or anybody else. It is part of our lives... sometimes we fail and sometimes we succeed. I just want to share how it all leads to this.

1. Format of NCLEX. Nclex RN exam will based your knowledge in many ways and they will measure it by a computer program called Computer Adaptive Test (CAT). https://www.ncsbn.org/1216.htm , since it is not like the traditional hand written exam you need to surpass the BASELINE by answering random questions that the computer will give you. FACT: they will base your next question depending on how you answer. If it is Correct they will give you a more difficult question if it is Wrong they will give you a lesser difficult question.

2. Foresighting about the Questions or Focusing on Certain topics to Review. Though this might help, you also need to consider that NCLEX will give you random questions. I recommend that you study with understanding All you need to know.

3. Practice Questions.Taking a lot of questions is a good thing, but don't rely on it. You NEED to study hard to get your License. On my part i thought that it will be easier if i will take a lot of questions but it didnt work.

4. I prepared enough that it took me for so long. Just like what i've said it took me 2-3 mos of studying that made me less excited about the exam. Some people and some research studies explained that it is better to take the exam sooner after you graduate. I dont know the reason but for me i think its true. Sometimes you need to TRUST your instincts.

5. During the Exam, you need to STOP, THINK, and ANALYZE. When you are taking NCLEX RN, they will give you 6 hours to answer the maximum question of 265. On my part it took me 1 hour and 10 mins. to finish the minimum questions (75) then it shut down. IM CONFIDENT AND CONFUSED! but i realized that the questions look so easy even the computations and SATA. So I concluded that I failed already.

During the exam i forgot to STOP (Breathe) between Questions. Because of tense i forgot THINK right (Just Picking, Assuming)! And the Worst thing is that i Forgot to ANALYZE( Restating the Questions).

For those who took the exam and failed don't remorse or feel depressed. NCLEX RN doesnt measure you being as a human. They just measure your knowledge about what you have learned and get you ready for your Profession.

After I Felt that i didnt pass, I prayed to the LORD who gives me strenght and comfort, for He who gives me wisdom. PASS or FAIL i will accept it Whol
