Mt.Sac Spring 2011-Pharmacology,Orientation

Published

Hi,

Has anyone here been accepted for Spring 2011?

I'm just waiting for the orientation packet and wondering if what should we expect during the orientation? And also, for other nursing students who started the program, Do you have any tip or suggestions before I start with the program. For example, any books I can start reading for pharmacology? Or do i have to memorize conversions?

I'm really nervous about the program 'cause I heard that pharma is really tough.

Thanks.

Hi! You probably already had the orientation, but I am going into my last semester at Mt. Sac. I would study what they told you to but don't freak out about Pharm, it isn't that bad. Yes, learn the conversions like crazy. And read the Kozier book, everything they tell you to. I did and it gave me an awesome start, which is why I think I am doing really well even now. Don't freak, just take it one day at a time and be serious about it. Good luck!

Hello blanquitanation!

Yes I had my orientation and it was overwhelming. I'll start reading and memorizing conversions. By any chance do you know the clinical instructor ***** ****?

Thanks for the advice. And Good luck to you too!

You have Mrs. ****? If I remember correctly she is very old and very "by the book". Stay on your toes in clinical and be very respectful. Good luck! At least you have her for first semester when it is hard to get kicked out, not that it hardly ever happens at Mt Sac. My favorite clinical instructors are *****, ******* ** *****, ***** ******, Mr. ******** (psych). ******* is great as well.

as stated in the terms of service:

while it is important to be able to network, everyone should be mindful of the following:

  1. it is a small world - when we narrow it down to a state and throw in some personal info, there is actually a pretty good chance someone may recognize you if you are not careful. your privacy is paramount to us.
  2. while allnurses.com is a wonderful place to vent (without excess personally identifiable details) it is not the place to express why ("x" specific person, place or program) is terrible. gripe away, but since we cannot permit allegations to be made about named entities, your care in not naming them is very much appreciated.
  3. please do not give out personal information about others. do not name names where anyone could identify the person in any facility including your nursing programs.

the best to all of you! thank you for your cooperation.
