Moving to Texas, apply now or wait

Hey y'all,

Is it possible to transfer nursing programs? I would like to begin in Chicago this spring and have plans to move to Texas spring of 2019. Ideally would not want to wait until then to start attending, is there anything I can do?

Nursing courses don't transfer super often, and it's hard to do from what I've seen. Curriculum for each course varies so widely that it's hard for any program to determine if a class from another college actually teaches the same information as one of theirs. You usually have to jump through a lot of hoops and it doesn't guarantee that it'll transfer.

If you have any prereqs or any courses that would be required at the end of your degree, get those out of the way this year, maybe? You could see if the college you'd want to attend in Texas has different gen ed requirements and get those out of the way. You can also ask the nursing program you'd be interested in there to see if they'd even try to transfer credits.
