Hello all! My husband and I are moving to southern Alabama area from Michigan this Summer or in the next 3 months. This would be the Orange Beach/Gulf Shores area. We don't want to live right on Orange Beach though. Any suggestions? We've been told about Fairhope, Daphne and Foley. We are fine with renting for a year or so before buying to get to know the area. My husband is a 20 year experience hospice RN that is retiring but will go back to work. He is 66 (in good shape), 20 plus military disabled (PTSD) vet. I am 53, just graduated with my LPN. I was an educator for over 20 years and wanted a different career. Nursing has been exciting so far.
All our kids are grown and out of the house. Empty nesters! No worries about schools for kiddos. Thinking about going to a community college for my RN down the road. Suggestions appreciated regarding RN programs would be appreciated as well. My husband and loved southern Alabama on our vacations. Nervous about our relocation but excited. Tired of MI winters. Thanks for any input!
