Hi All

I am a UK nurse & will be moving to LA at the begining of Nov if all goes well. I will be working in down town LA.

I was just wondering if anyone could give me an idea of what stoppages will come out of my wages, as your tax system ect is all so different to the UK I haven't got a clue. I know everyone will be different but I would just like some kind of guide so I know how much I will have left for rent & living ect.

What I need to know is how much % of my wage will go on tax?

I understand my hospital do have a pension scheme & provide health insurance for myself & at a cost for my husband and 21 year old daughter as well. Could there be other stoppages I might need to take into account?

As I said before I have no idea about the stoppages as far as I know health insurance for example could be anything from $5 to $500 a month! so as you can see a really do need your help:uhoh3:

I would welcome any advice, please help
