Welcome to Ohio! Akron City Hospital, part of Summa, just built and opened a new CCU and ICU this spring. It's a teaching hospital with a large campus. Akron General Medical Center is on the other side of town and is also large and also is a teaching hospital. Akron General is a union hospital, while City is not. Good luck with interviews and your new job!

I don't know what your education/experience level is, but I seem to remember from when my wife was jobhunting, that Akron General only hired BSN's or ADN's with X amount of experience (think it was 18-24months). My wife works at Barberton hospital and seems to like it, though they just transitioned to a smoke free campus, something to consider there. Good luck!

Hello fellow RNs...
Can anyone please suggest any good hospitals around Akron - Cleveland area with regards to good pay and working environment? I am planning to move from LA to be with family here in Akron area.
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
