Mount Carmel College of Nursing SDAP 13 month program

Published

I recently applied and was selected for an interview for MCCN SDAPs 13 month program for the Jan 2021 cohort in Columbus, Ohio. I was wondering if anyone has any insight on their interview questions. What should I expect from a nursing school admissions interview? Is it like some other programs where the spot is essentially yours to lose once you get invited to interview?

How long did you hear back from them? I am interested in the Spring 2021 session too and hope to apply by September 1 though I was told the deadline is November 1.

Please shed more light on your application process.

Good news! It was a very quick process. My interview was only 10 days after submitting my application. I received my acceptance letter (email) another 10 days after the interview. I was nervous about the interview, but it was really nothing to be nervous about. They are not going to ask you the hard questions you would expect from a job interview (that was what I was expecting it to be like). They just want to make sure you are going to be able to handle the stress of the program (so they'll ask you about how you handle stress) and that you are able to devote the time required for the full time commitment the program requires (so they'll ask you about how you plan to support yourself during school because you will not be able to work). At the time of my application, I still had six pre-requisite courses to take. I don't know exactly when the application deadline is, but they have a rolling admissions process, so they review applications as they receive them. If you can apply earlier, I would, because I've heard they usually end up with a wait list.

Good luck! Let me know if you get in!

Thank you so much for your reply. I will do all I can to apply by Sep 1 then and I hope I gain admission.

Hello Shrea,

I would like to find out where you completed the following courses; Comparative Religion and Organic Biochemistry and the cost. These two courses are not offered this fall in my school.

Thanks,

Larissa

I completed them at Columbus State Community College.  Right now all courses are online, but unfortunately, fall classes started 8/31 and CSCC does not allow any late enrollments.  You could enroll for an 8 week fall course, if one is offered.  However, I checked and Organic Biochemistry (CHEM 1113) and Comparative Religions (HUM 1270) are only offered as full semester courses this semester.

Looking at my financial statement, Organic Biochemistry was $651.72 and $473.79. There were also additional online course fees, but the way the financial statement is broken out, I'm not sure exactly how much the fee was for each course...the online course fee was $110 for 3 courses one semester (where I was taking 2 lab courses and 1 one non-lab course) and $100 for 3 courses another semester (where I was only taking 1 lab course and 2 non-lab courses).

Hello Shrea,

I recently had my interview. It took about 50 days to have the interview. I was told the decision will be made in two to four weeks. I am somehow worried and I really hope I get into the program. I am scared the cohort may be full, I switched to the 18-months program.

Anyone have any insight into the 18-months programs?

Anyone got enrolled into the SDAP-H program, the 18-months program?
