I recieved my acceptance letter for Wolford!!!!! I am very excited, but I am having a hard time allocating the finances for school. If anyone has info on financial aid/loans for Wolford it would be greatly appretiated.

I have a friend who is there now and financial aid is not yet available. Apparently there was some sort of snafu when they switched names and now they are having trouble with the govt regarding financial aid. So far my friend has had to pay his own way, but they told him they might be able to help him out. He's been there since January. Hope this helps some.

I'm interviewing on June 7th at Wolford for Feb 07. I heard there was a stipend program offered by an anes. group in Naples that helps pay for the school if you agree to work for then for x# of years. Was any of this information given at the interview?

You might wanna check out the super-duper fantabulous thread entitled "alternative loans..here's what I found". It was started by arkyccrn and has a plethora of great information, questions and answers.

Congrats on getting an interview. They are very laid back and friendly. They ask the typical..."why CRNA?" and "Tell us about your clinical experience" which means they just want to know if you are familiar with central lines and vasoactive gtts. Oh yeah, they also asked about your weaknesses. If you get an interview, chances are good that you will get in because they only pull in about 5-10 extra people above the number they are looking for. That may change as their new program gains speed, however (my opinion).
One of the program directors said that his group does pay a stipend for students who want to stay in the area after graduation to work for them for X number of years. He encouraged us out-of-towners to talk to the groups where we want to be located after graduation and see if any of them will pay a stipend or pay back loans in exchange for a commitment. He warned us to be careful not to sign on a contract that isn't fair.
I have contacted one group in my town so far and will pursue that angle for financing. Good luck in the interview. Just relax and have fun in Naples!
