Modified Full Time? Please explain...

Published

okay,

just got a job at an ICU and the nurse recruiter said I will be modified full time (MFT) and will be working 36 hours but being paid for 40 hours?

I called my sister in-law and she says that I will be working 36 hours and being paid 36 hours.

So I called a friend (nurse) at the same hospital and she says you work 36 hours and get 8 hours of OVERTIME!!!! (Which I don't believe)

Then, my friend went to the nurse recruitor and the nurse said my friend will be MFT on a tele floor and that means you work 36 hours but benifited for 40!

Someone please explain this! Everybody I have talken to has a different answer!:D:D:no:

You're getting different answers because it could mean different things. Working 36 hours might get you into overtime pay, but it depends on the state, schedule, contract, and/or institution. Some places are required to pay overtime any day you've worked more than 8 hours, other places don't have overtime pay kick in until after 40 hours in a week.

Your best bet is to ask the recruiter or someone in human resources/benefits at your facility. Congrats on your new job! :yeah:

It's okay to ask for clarification about the hours/compensation. :p
