MO to Seattle, WA: Help. advice!

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I graduate in feb. 2017 (5 months) and Im currently living in Missouri. However, my fiance has just moved to Seattle to start his new career. I'm really lost as to what to do as far as getting licensed.. the goal is to move to Washington with my fiance sooner than later.

If i take boards in MO, Washington is not apart of the compact state deal which means:

1. id have to apply and pay for a new license for WA

2. it will take approximately 2 months to get said license

3. No one will want to hire a nurse who doesn't have a current license

4. I'm a new grad

So should I take the boards in WA or MO? can I even take the board there?

Does anyone have advice? anything ANYTHING would be appreciated!!

Thank you!!

My understanding is that you can take your NCLEX anywhere. If you do not plan to stick around MO to find a job, you should just apply to WA state BON and have your transcripts sent there. Can be a bit of delay but doesn't really make sense to pay for both states if you are relocating there soon.
