Hey everyone. I am currently a pre-nursing student enrolled in a community college and plan to apply for nursing the program this Jan. I am also a newly registered CNA and I am looking to get into a hospital setting as apposed to an LTC, mostly as a foot in the door for after I get my ASN but also for the experience I will gain. I understand that it's difficult to get into a hospital without any experience, however I typically go for what ever my goals are first. Any suggestions for me. For example, specific hospitals that might be more understanding than others, or even specific hospitals that you've worked at that you absolutely loved working at?
Thank you so much for your time.

Hi,
I am in the same position as you. Would you care to share your experience of the past few months? Did you find a CNA position and could you share where? I just got certified, am doing pre-reqs, and am looking for a casual/part-time position. Thanks!

I am also in the same position but not exactly. I am starting my ASN program on Monday and work as a home health aide and have worked as an advocate for ppl with physical and mental disabilities. I've been a CNA for a year and a half. I had a hard time trying to get a hospital job a year ago because I didn't have enough experience and they were concerned with my flexibility with school. It was discouraging because I tried so hard to even get that interview.
I think it's a matter of flexibility. If you go to school, may deter them to interview students. This was just my experience and obviously I don't speak for everyone.
