Hi everyone,
I am plannign on applying to the MGH IHP accelerated BSN to RN for Spring 2018. I am 3 pre-reqs short, but I have figured out a few plans to get them done in time. I'm just curious if anyone who was accepted into the program took their prereqs via Straighterline and if they were accepted.
Thanks!
It's really frustrating that a post can't be edited or deleted!
I did not mean to write BSN to RN. I meant to write ABSN!

Hi AmandaKyle,
I was recently accepted to the MGH 2017 cohort. I have not heard of straighterline but just briefly looking it up it is unaccredited. I would be extremely cautious of completing your prereqs here without first checking with an MGH nursing recruiter or the department head. I completed most of the prereqs through my local community college and the others in my first degree. As long as the prereqs are from an accredited institution they will be accepted without issue. My best advice would be to contact MGH directly to check if courses from straighterline are accepted and also look into your local community college for online courses (I believe MGH requires A&P and Mcrobiology to be in class, however).
Congratulations on being accepted into the cohort! You must be thrilled!
I've decided to steer clear of Straighterline and take the prereqs at a community college. I will call MGH to make sure online courses are acceptable. I didn't know transcripts indicated if a course was taken online or in person. I have copies of my transcripts and I just looked at them and nothing I see indicates a difference between courses I took online and courses I took in the classroom. Hmm.
Thank you, I am definitely excited! Still weighing a couple other options too.
That's probably a good decision in regards to straighterline, community college courses will probably be cheaper as well. I had some online courses for my prereqs so they definitely accept online courses, I am just unsure about those three specifically. Also, I applied and was accepted although I hadn't yet completed either anatomy and physiology so if you aren't able to finish them before the next application period still be sure to apply!
