The ICU is wonderful. That is not an option for LPN's, but would have loved the opportunity. Mercy is great because it is a smaller hospital and you get to know everyone pretty quickly throughout the place. I think you are making a good choice. I didnt realize they had contracts now. If you decide to stay there for a couple of years, look into their choices program-the pay is pretty good!
It is a position you can take where you can write your own schedule week by week, and it takes you into a much higher pay bracket according to how many hours you work. The only down side is that you don't get benifits and you are the first to get called off or to float, but that doesnt happen that often. It is a great opportunity!

I just got hired on at MERCY HOSPITAL, just wanted to know what you think of it if you work there currently.
This is my first hospital job and I am trying to figure about taking a 1 or 2 year contract with them. They seem pretty friendly and looks like they really care about their employees, plus theemployees seem pretty happy.
