I'm a new grad RN. I just graduated this last May. I was offered a position in the ICU. I took the position. Very disappointed to find that They now have me working in med surge for a few months. Very upset. This ICU position wasn't advertised this way nor was this brought up in my interview. I worked in labs and as a CNA for 12 years, and I worked as a nurse extern. So I do have experience already.
I feel I am being taken advantage of due to a lack of staff to train me in the ICU and I'm picking up slack of med surge nurses who are burned out.
I'm planning on quitting asap. Looking for a new job.
My end goal is to get my DNP or NP. What careers come with a DNP?
