Memorial Hermann Northwest (Houston)

Published

Hi everyone-

I'm an experienced CVICU nurse looking for a new job. I currently work nightshift but will be starting an NP program in the Spring and would really like to find a day job. Unfortunately, the list to go to dayshift in our unit is long and I don't see it happening for me anytime soon.

I see that Memorial Hermann Northwest has several job openings, and I'm wondering if there are any nurses here that can provide some insight into the working environment, etc.

I'd like to find a CVICU job in the Med Ctr but there do not seem to be too many of those.

I would really appreciate any insight, comments, thoughts, or inside connections (lol)!

Thanks!

I hate to be there barrier of bad news but there is a reason why MHNW has so many positions open. That's because they are running everyone off. I worked there for 13 years and left last year because of management.

I am not just a dissatisfied nurse either because I transferred within the system and that was the best thing that ever happened!!! But if you are looking at going to school, you will be stressed enough, you dont need their added stress!!

Good luck if you choose to go!

Thanks for the feedback! I figured that there was a "story" there. They have 14 CV jobs listed and are offering a $10K sign on bonus. This is a tough market, so if its too good to be true, it most likely is.

Fortunately, I like my facility and have great co-workers so finding another job is not an absolute necessity. I sure don't feel the need to invite drama in to my life. Just that the night shift is starting to wear on me and I would really like to have a "normal" schedule, especially starting back to school.

Thanks again!

No problem. That is not the place for you if you're going back to school. They will tell you everything you want to hear to get you in there and once you're there, things will change FAST!!! We lost alot of nurses because of that
