Meds for NCLEX

Published

I am getting everything together to study for my 3rd attempt, Right now my plan is to take NCSBN review and I am going to order Exam cram book, Lacharity book and alternate format question book. I also have a kaplan book from the on demand program I can use. I am wondering should I order a book just for meds or will it all be covered in the books and online review? The book I am thinking about is Kaplan medications you need to know for the exam. All suggestions are welcome. I am wanting to make sure I have all bases covered this time since just Kaplan didn't work for me the last time :)

I am using kaplan course book for medications.

But i am not memorizing each medications side effects, nsg considerations, both trade name and generic name.

Because the exam provide u both name as in the book.

As for example,

Antianxiety agents

chlordiazepoxide,clorezepate,diazepam,alprazolam,clonazepam,lotazepam,oxazepam,buspione,hydroxyzine,meprobamate

Action, indications, side effects, nsg considerations (as a whole rather than memorizing each medications side effects, nsg considerations)

I find it so overwhelming to know each medications side effects and nsg considerations as u know there is no huge difference.

It will become much easier if u study these medications as a group than the individual.

I do study medicines everyday because u cannot know everything in one day and forget easily.

These are the things that i am doing in order to learn medicines.

I hope u find this helpful.

As for me, I study pharm as I encounter them on my content review (on Saunders), and from all the practice questions I answered and rationalized. You can never memorize every single med out there for NCLEX. Also, I make index cards of those drugs that I mostly get. Good luck! :D We can do this!
