Hello!
Is there anyone out there that has applied to, or is in the process of applying to the PhD in nursing science program at MUSC? Anyone that's been accepted for the Fall 2024 cohort yet?
Bumping this thread up to see if there is anyone else that has apply for the program? I just submitted my NursingCAS application today and would love to meet others in the same boat as me.
For anyone that is lurking out there...I had my interview yesterday for the MUSC PhD in nursing science program. I believe it went well and I hope to hear back soon!
Update: I was accepted!

How was your first semester?

Hey! The first semester was great! I'm in a small cohort with 3 other people and it really has been one of the best experiences so far. There were a lot of unknowns so that creates some anxiety. But I received As in both courses last semester and that was definitely a confidence booster. The faculty have been helpful and they are very knowledgeable about the subject material. And my mentor that I matched to is phenomenal! We are very much alike in how we think and our research topics of interest so I really feel like I am not alone in trying to figure everything out.
I just finished my first semester as well. A's in Stats and Philosophy. I start 2nd semester next week. Theory and Qualitative. I'm in a bigger cohort. 12. Lots of writing and thinking. Excited to be on this journey. I'm in NC.

That's awesome! Congratulations on your acceptance and for a stellar first semester! I am taking an advanced qualitative course and an advanced quantitative course this semester. The first semester was more theory based and discussed the scholarship aspect of research. I am also excited to be on this journey. I never would have thought that this could be me. I would have laughed 10 years ago if someone told me I would be in a PhD program! 🙂
