Hey so here's the short story,
i have a part time position on a med surg unit for about 6 months now. I almost always work full time hours but have part time benefits. I was offered a full time Ed position at a public hospital. At first I was soo excited and then I started thinking . I'd be taking a pay cut and the hospital is further from where I live, BUT it's the ED lol. I don't know what to do, should I stay at my current job or take the position of a lifetime almost lol.
I forgot to mention my position now is days and the ED position is nights.

I recently moved from a tele/med surge/float setting to an ED, for me the ED was were I wanted to be. Now the pay was bout the same and full time as well. I hated med surge although glad I did experience it due to what all I've learned but won't go back if all possible. I say if your financial and home situation allow it to do it. I love the mixed bag of pts. and have learned tons in my 6 months being there. Also in my hospitals case we have pretty much the same docs all the time so you don't have to call random physicians who you don't know how they will react with your pt. problem. Good luck.
