I hope this will help. The convention is coming up in October in Vegas. AMSN holds review classes prior to the convention and the exam will be held after the convention. THE site has a link to application for Certification.

according to the requirements for certification, you won't be able to test for at least a couple years of Med Surg work.

what was your past experience prior to the 5 year furlough?

YOu can also order the review materials online. They have books, CD and other stuff. Be a member of AMSN. It will turn out cheaper.
