MCC-BIO205 during 1st block

Published

I'm starting the nursing program at Mesa CC in January. I am currently scheduled to take BIO 205 as well (full schedule, I know). I'm curious how this will work with clinicals. Right now my clinicals are W/R in the morning, however, I was told this was only for the 1st 8 weeks and then it could change. For BIO 205 it was either M/W or T/R. Will they assign me evening clinicals if I am taking an evening class? I'm assuming they would take that into consideration but you know what they say when you assume...

I am currently taking block 1 nursing clases and Bio 205 as well. My bio class however is an evening class, and I know they won't change your clinical schedule to fit your other classes, so you may have to figure that out. Good luck to you and congrats on starting nursing school :yeah:

To Chechy: Thank you for replying. Did your clinical schedule change after the 1st 8 weeks? If mine does and I am assigned evening clinicals, would I have to drop BIO205? I don't want to start a class that I may have to drop. Have you already taken BIO202? Are either 202 or 205 necessary for the first block? Could I take them over the summer instead? I know these are questions for an advisor... and I left a message... I just thought I would get some extra input. Thank you again!!!!

My community college only has clinicals during the day so I didn't have the problem of conflicting schedules, but we were told that we could request certain clinical hours if we email the instructor ahead of time, they can try to accommodate. I took 202 last summer and my only classes left are the Bio 205 that I am taking right now and my humanities class elective. If you can take the class during the summer it will save you a lot of stress, but also try not to take 202 and 205 together during the summer because it is way too much information. If your only class left is bio 205 I will say you should take it in the summer.

To Chechy: You have been so helpful!!! I only have one more question. I haven't had 202 or 205. I could do one during this summer and try one online once the semester starts and I see what the first block is like. My only remaining concern is if I will be behind during the first block because I haven't taken them yet? Thank you again!!!!

I think bio 202 is really helpful to have before starting block 1. But don't worry it is still doable.
