Hey guys! I am applying to the Summer lll 2020 Externship program at Mayo Clinic and thought it would be a good idea to start a forum to help us all get through this process together :)

Hello, I plan on applying to the program as well, and I noticed the essay prompt has changed.

"Mayo Clinic Hospital – Rochester, MN was once again named the No. 1 hospital in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2019-20 “Best Hospitals Honor Roll”. With this honor comes great responsibility. Our patients come to Mayo Clinic Rochester with high expectations and as employees, it is our responsibility to meet and exceed their expectations. Please share a story that exemplifies your ability to achieve and exceed expectations for your patient, their family members, or a customer you have served. What did you gain from this experience?"

I've only completed fundamentals, so I think it's going to be hard to write about this topic.

Hey! I agree the prompt is a little challenging, but I don't think you have to share a story about a clinical experience. Just an experience that shows your ability to go above and beyond and how you'll do that for your patients.
