Mayo Clinic Confusion

Published

I just interviewed with Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and I was offered a position on their internal medicine unit in their Nurse Residency program.

The schedule discussed in the interview is a 0.8 FTE with 8 hour shifts Monday-Friday, 12 hour shifts every 3rd weekend, 64 hours per pay period. I've been trying to figure out what that means and how that works but I'm at a loss. Has anyone worked for/is working at Mayo or any other hospital that understands this? And for those of you that have worked at Mayo, do they compensate you for any shifts you pick up and/or extra hours that put you over the 64 hours if you're non-union?
