Maxiscope Experiences?

Anybody own a Maxiscope? Are they comparable to Ultrascope in terms of acoustics? Would you buy one again? Are they good for nursing students?

Thanks!

I am a student and I have a Maxiscope. I have never had the Ultrascope so can't do a fair comparison, though I do have an Adscope Vistascope, which I believe is very similar to the Ultrascope in design. I like my Maxiscope and think it's fine for a student, but I am not as "blown away" by it as I was hoping. I have some hearing loss in one ear and was really hoping things would be amplified enough to really really hear things. I can hear with it but am not sure I hear much more, if any more, than with my Littmann lightweight. Maybe things are a slight bit louder.

I am stethoscope crazed and am always trying to find the "best" one without having to go to an electronic one. I guess that's why I have 3, count 'em 3, stethoscopes!

I am a bit stethoscope crazed myself. I'm got a few I bought in stores, a few I won on ebay - way more than I need. Like you, I'm always searching for the best!

I wondered how well the Maxiscope worked, but nobody here has really said much about it. There are a few Ultrascope lovers on this forum, to be sure!

Thanks for the reply!
